Mechanical carbon graphite products are used in a variety of machinery as structural components of carbon – graphite materials, including a variety of graphite bearings, graphite seal ring, graphite piston ring, graphite slide and graphite brake friction sheet.
According to the production process, the mechanical carbon graphite products are mainly divided into 7 categories 1) carbon – graphite;
(2) electrochemical graphite;
(3) carbon and electrochemical graphite impregnated with resin;
(4) carbon and electrochemical graphite impregnated with metal;
(5) carbon – graphite material with resin as binder;
(6) metal-graphite material;
(7) flexible graphite material.
Mechanical carbon graphite products can be used in the temperature range of -200~2000℃ corrosive media, and at a very high rate of motion without lubricating oil and normal work, they have self-lubrication, good wear resistance, high thermal conductivity and heat shock resistance, linear expansion coefficient and good mechanical processing performance.
Carbon and graphite products for mechanical use are mainly used in the following five occasions:
(1) occasions where the temperature is very high and the lubricating oil is decomposed or evaporated, or occasions where the temperature is low and the lubricating oil is frozen;
(2) occasions for lubricating oil to be dissolved in contact with organic solvents;
(3) where oil or contact with corrosive chemicals is required to prevent the deterioration or corrosion of lubricating oil;
(4) where ordinary ball bearings cannot be used in high-speed running machinery;
(5) shaft seals of various high-pressure and high-speed turbine machines.
